PANTHERS HAWK - ANOTHER WIN

HAWK'S WINNING DISTANCE YESTERDAY !

Yesterday saw PANTHERS HAWK fly out the traps and lead well at the first two bends before then going very wide and giving the lead away. With a bit of tangling up on the top bends she still had it all to do but she is a very game bitch and ran on strong in the home straight to deny kennel mate by getting up right on the line. Hawk had been a recommended bet to her owners in the expectation she would be off and gone and not look back but she brought her own problems on to herself and made hard work of what looked an easy job by the 2nd bend. Fortunately she did retrieve the situation - much to the relief of Alan who was very happy with the 3/1 odds he took !

HAVANA BLACKBIRD

Having just walked her out at the kennels with Jimmy and in the process of putting her back in the kennels, Yvonne ran over and said there was a place for another dog for rehoming, as a brindle that was going over had already just been reserved and this was Ana's chance. With no time to pack her suitcases a very happy Ana was soon back on her lead and bounced her way along with the brindle to the van. Not even a backward glance ! It was a sad / happy moment as we watched her disappear but brilliant to know she was off to a sofa to call her own. She gave everything she had on track for her owners, won 11 from 88 and was 2nd x 15 rated 72 and A2 GRADE. She would have won more but the last 20 yards just caught her short. Not that she will be thinking too much about the track now as a whole new future awaits.

Raven ran but missed the break and was then sideswiped out of the race by an inner dog and it was race over. Main thing is she was without problem and will run again soon. Bluey has also ran but was crowded at the 3rd over an inadequate trip but the main problem is she is being asked to give too much ground away in the handicap races. It's become an impossible task to make so much ground up and she has now gone 10 races since her last win. However she has won 9 races to date from 41 races at Sunderland. A little relaxation of her handicap wouldn't go amiss.

Danni is expected to be out again shortly.
