KENNEL NEWS
Visited the other Panther dogs at the kennels on Saturday and had a bit of fun going into play mode with them all. However, although Hawk was keen on having a play I was stopped by Alan from doing so as she wasn't 100%. Danni was next up and I must admit I'm still a little apprehensive of her. She wants to play one minute and then can change in a split second from being a playful dog into one that goes into attack mode ! Still we seemed to get on fine with a bit of play bowing on both sides and no 'incidents'. She has a lovely coat on her and after one more trial should be back on the card following her season. Storm is a big dog and around 3 kilos heavier than me but he really is a gentle giant. Doesn't pull on the

lead and happy to be rubbed and be made a fuss of. Probably happier with A&A patting him than with me going into play mode with him, as he seemed a bit nervous of my intentions. Mind you I did give him plenty of advice regarding being rehomed. It is certainly no bad thing - provided you get the upper hand over your new owners. Ok you need neutering but there are also plenty of positives. For a big, soft good looking dog like Storm he should certainly have no hassle in getting a good new home out of racing - which isn't what he was really in love with. Ana just hasn't changed at all, still full of bounce and play. Shame she never made it 100 races but she was a great runner for her owners and a shame she had to bow out with a broken bone in her foot. Not that you would ever guess the way she flies around. Still she was almost 5 and deserves her forever

home and sofa also. Next up were Bluey and Raven. Bluey loves me - even if I say so myself ! Mind you I still remember Yvonne saying how she punctured the throat of another dog in an argument over food and now lives in her own kennel. She has never had a moment's problem with me though and I'm happy letting her jump all over me and clatter into my face in sheer enjoyment - well at least I think that's what it's all about ? She seems happy and I don't mind. However, after Raven and Bluey seemed happy meeting up initially, things took a turn for the worse as Alan took pics while holding me and the photo shoot was over. Maybe they were arguing over me ? Raven is another who either didn't know the story about the punctured throat of another dog or she is one brave dog to take on Bluey. Whatever, I'll be keeping a close eye on Raven from now on also. She runs on Wed night live on RPGTV so I'll also be able to watch her race and give any tips next time we meet up.
