Been Laid Low !
Sorry have been quiet of late but had a bit of a hiccup. Quite a big one actually and I'll never take a bone off Alan again. One of those roasted knuckle bones that I have always loved. This time something was amiss and by midnight my pacing the floor before being sick and feeling totally wrong resulted in a call to the vets and a rush job in. Heard the words 'pancreatitis would be a worry' and blood tests needed. By now I was taken away from A&A and let me tell you those needles they used on my legs were blunt and I screamed the place down. When I was re introduced to A&A there was the usual 'typical greyhound' scenario explaining away my screams. This time I didn't really care. By now it was 5am when the good news was that I could go home and nothing had shown up on the tests so off we went. It took a few days to pull round to my usual self but it was put down to food poisoning from a 'bad' bone. They are now definitely off the menu. Hasn't really been my lucky week or so, as prior to my visit to the vets, I also broke loose from my harness when on a 6am walk over the grasslands. Result was mayhem but very exciting as I got to participate in a chase. I was very good even if I say so myself - showing some dazzling speed - but I'd better not go into details as Alan was none too impressed as he was handed my lead back by a very nice gentleman who allowed me to walk back to meet up with Alan with his own two dogs on leads. I made an impression on the other gentleman as he said he had never seen a dog run as fast in his whole life. Knew I should have been in The Derby.
Anyhow, enough of me and I will soon be back with some doggy news and tips.
